Persephone
This Greek deity is famously known as both the goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. She is married to Hades and because she consumed six pomegranate seeds she committed herself to be with him for six months of each year. Her pattern of spending fall and winter in the underworld then returning to earth in the spring and summer marks the cycle of the seasons. This fruity tea was chosen as white teas are only harvested during a short period of time in spring, and pomegranate is a major symbol of Persephone's story.
