Hades
Hades, god of the dead and king of the underworld, is known by many names: Haides, Aidoneus, Plouton, Pluto, and Dis. He is often depicted as solemn with a long beard, Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of the underworld, at his side, and a bident, a two-pronged fork modeled after Poseidon’s trident, in hand. The most well-known myth of Hades is the tale in which he abducts Persephone at the behest of Zeus and marries her.
