Izanagi
Also known as Izanaki or Izanagi-no-Mikoto, this Japanese god is best known for his role in the Shinto creation myth. His name literally means "He-who-invites" or "Male-who-invites." This kami is the brother and husband of Izanami, with whom she brought the world into being, and he is the father of Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, and Kagutsuchi. We selected an herbal peach tea for Izanagi because of the tale of parting beneath the peach tree, which happens after Izanagi searches for Izanami in Yomi-no-Kuni, or the Land of the Dead, after she dies giving birth to Kagutsuchi.
