This wild white tea has been named for the Chinese god of love and marriage, Yue Lao, whose name means "old man of the moonlight." He is often depicted as a elderly man with a long, white beard and a kind countenance. Yue Lao carries red rope or thread, which he uses to tie potential couples together.
