Yinglong, whose name roughly translates to "responsive dragon," is one of many Chinese dragon deities. He is often depicted with yellow scales and wings, and was believed to be enlisted by the Yellow Emperor and his descendant, King Yu, to control great floods across the empire as he holds dominion over the rain.
