Iblis

The devil has many names and many stories. Iblis is the name he is given in the Quran. In this iteration of his story, he refused to bow before Adam so God cast him out of heaven. Some believe it was out of pride that he refused to bow and others say that he loved God so much that he refused to put anyone before him.
